Emilia Mintz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her
early interest in art led her to become a teacher of
Fine Arts. Later on, she studied textile design until
she found the world of sugar, a field where she could
express her creativity and inspiration. Emilia studied
at the prestigious Institutos Ballina Sugarcraft where
she graduated as a Pastry Chef and a Cake Decorating
Having lived in Florida for more than six years now,
Emilia works for Sweet Art by Lucila in the creation of
new designs and decorative pieces. She received the gold
medal in the Societé Culinaire Philanthropique of New
York competition in 2004. In 2006, she won first place
in the 61st Miami International Orchid Show contest.
Emilia is a member of ICES where she has participated
for several years in sharing her works and giving demos.
Emilia's passion for teaching and spreading her
knowledge has led her to teach people of different
countries and cultures for more than ten years. She is
currently teaching classes in modeling, pastillage and
other diverse techniques that compose this incredible
world of sugar.
